I'm 4'10" and 190lbs - so I'm a petite - plus. i can walk it h3ll (big yellow smiley) and buy a size 16 petite/short in stretch JEANS and they fit every time - i might need them hemmed up less than 2 inches, so i don't bother...
now my mom who is also 4'10" cannot wear petite jeans as the zipper is also shorter, and she still has to hem them up 3+ inches, so she buys the average as they have a larger zipper (means they also open wider to fit over her hips) and hems the 5-6 inches up...
