  • Video of Sucky Customers

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nn5QpgZc2uI

If you can get hold of any footage of Airline, or Luton Airport (I think there is also an American edition, not sure what it is called) you can see some REALLY sucky customers.

I have worked with customers for thirty years and I sometimes think I would not be able to cope with the passenger customers on these programmes!!!

Here we see a woman who has been told she cannot take something on the airplane as it contains sharp items. She throws a fit and throws something at the staff of the airline. She is then told she cannot fly........

    Watch what she does next.......

I suppose you could kill someone with the sharp edges of a cracker...

I think here we have a classic British/American word misunderstanding

          American - cracker = cookie i think

British - cracker= paper and cardboard wrapper likely to contain gunpowder, and some items such as scissors, combs, etc. What is inside a cracker could indeed be sharp.

Close. Crackers are usually savory, like saltines, oyster crackers, and those delightful tollhouse things. The exception being animal crackers, which are actually cookies.

Aha.In that case we call crackers the same thing, and we call cookies biscuits, which presumably are not the same thing Americans have with gravy?

heh i've watched enough BBC & read enough HP (and fanfic) that I'm use to the different terminology.

Actually I'd like to try some crackers. They look like they could be fun.

But I also heard that the British military had an incident where they sent some to troops and - because of the explosives inside (even though it's a very small amount) - they had to de-arm them first.

Next christmas i'll try to get some - target had some boxes of them i think.

I love this convo. I did have to explain to a Brit once that Americans don't eat that kind of biscuit with gravy. Those Americans sure love their gravy...

American biscuits are a savoury bread, leavened with baking powder and rolled out and cut into rounds before baking. They puff up and soak up gravy very well.

Yes, I have seen grown women cry like that.

According to wikipedia reruns still air on TV. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airline...._TV_series%29

I have found many of the season 1 episodes on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xI_UIrzOZAQ

                    EDIT:
One episode filled with stupid. A women signs out her elderly mother, against med. orders who needs oxygen and balms the airline when they don't let them fly and begss the dr. to sign paperwork to allow her to fly w/o oxygen. Another idiot puts vital life saving medication in checked luggage, misses the fight and blames the airline all while her meds are flying over the midwest and they are still in LA. F***ing morons.

Crackers over here are either the firework variety (aka bangers) or tasteless biscuits (similar to cookies) to put cheese on. Occasionally used to denote other forms of biscuit (the UK version).
