This was in the Washington Post newspaper today (Jan. 31, 2010).
In tough economic times, shoppers take haggling to new heights
The accompanying cartoon showed a guy haggling over a pair of $148.00 shoes. First he asked for 25% off cause he could get them from the Internet or a competitor. The salesman complained that this was the second time today that happened. He then offered the guy 10% off. The guy asked for 20%, but decided to settle for 10% because he sensed the salesman was getting annoyed.
