So my parents do the smart thing, which means that they have very few lines. 
Every year, in Adelaide, we have the Christmas Pageant:

The last few years, my sister has been an eager participant in the pageant either behind the scenes or in a role (she's part of Gang Show and the Adelaide Gang Show is sponsored by one of the Credit Unions, who have naming rights for the pageant). This year she had behind the scenes/standby role again.
So while the pageant is on and everyone's watching the parade wind through the streets, my parents hit up all the stores and grab the Christmas pressies.
(Most of the local councils also hold smaller pageants. I've participated in the Onkaparinga City Christmas Pageant twice (once as a fish, the other time as part of a band) and the Glenelg Christmas Pageant once (band). I do believe that Nyoibo has participated in the Glenelg one with the circus)
