I was just wondering about post count rankings. I just noticed that when I hit 500 posts I was 'promoted' to Store Manager. Is there a place where I can see the 'totem pole' and what post numbers get a person higher up the proverbial pole??

It's set in the admin section. I can't remember what they are - we reset them over eighteen months back after the last hack.

The lazy answer on my part is to say "Keep posting and find out!"

I think I set 5000 posts to "Needs a life".

The reason I asked was that the board (it's the same version VBulletin as this board) I work on has the same sort of rankings, but we go up through the US Army military ranks starting with private and working our way up to Commander in Chief. I believe the deliniations are at 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 750, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, and then every thousand until you get to Commander in Chief at 10,000 posts. If you manage to get to 20,000, you're called a "Supreme Being" and we have 3 people who have at least that many. The owner has 50,000+.

As long as I don't do something incredibly stupid (which I'm known to do from time to time in real life) I plan on finding out. This is my favorite site on the net and you and your crew do a great job. I know what it takes to do what you and the other fine people here do, and it's done impeccably.

According to the army types I know, that should be 'Sergeant'.

We have a retail theme going through - I think the one before 'need a life' is 'district manager' or similar.

If you did, I somehow missed it, since I've been at assistant manager for FOREVER.

Something's wacky with your title, as you're stuck at the 250 post count title. Try setting a custom title, then removing it in your control panel, see if that helps.

I'll do that, as soon as I think of something clever.

I think 6000 posts should be OmniCorp CEO.

Actually, it looks like you already have "assistant manager" as a custom title. At least that's what I'm seeing in the Admin panel.

Mike, that's really interesting. I never changed my title, because I wanted to have the opportunity to see myself rise through the ranks, if you will.

OK, I went in and fixed it. You officially need a life.

But in all seriousness, just in case what I did messed something up, if you later decide to change your title and can't, let me know.
