And THIS is the reason why SC's continue to be SC's - because they get rewarded for their bad behavior when managers refuse to stand up to them!

"Insane Woman" (poster's description!) wants to apply for a job; the hiring manager she speaks to, she almost wrecked into an hour previously.

Drivers like that should be taken out back and shot. And personally, if I had been the manager, I would've been a lot ruder to her than the poster was. (If there was a law requiring me to take her application, I would've written on it in big letters, right in front of her, "DO NOT HIRE EVER".)

I'd have given her the application, had her fill it out, accepted it from her, asked one or two semi-relevant questions, then torn it to shreds in front of her with my biggest sickly-sweet fake smile ever. "Sorry, Hell hasn't frozen over yet. But the moment it does, you be sure to come on back, mmmkay?"

Talk about an ungrateful bitch! Reminds me of Soltero's (Eli Walich's character in THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN) classic line: "Just goes to show you, sooner or later you must answer for every good deed!"

Manager should have banned her on the spot!

            • Seriously, You _Really_ Think This Is Going To Work?

              https://consumerist.com/2016/08/30/a...cause-it-wont/

From the article: "American Airlines wants you to be happy in the air. Or at least, they want you not to cause an incident that will result in an emergency landing and major disruption. So instead of adding features, creating legroom, or improving their end of things, American’s asking you: have you considered being more zen and less face-punchy?"

Further in there's this gem: "Your seat, the airline seems to concede, will be horribly unpleasant. Conditions will be cramped. Everyone will be angry and tired. So instead of advertising features — like WiFi or in-flight entertainment — that could make you want to fly with them, they’re trying a new tactic: asking you not to be a jerk."

So instead of, I don't know, actually FIXING the problems (or lower prices to reflect the reduced/poorer service) they simply ask their passengers to bottle up their legitimate frustrations.

Some suits in corporate need an increase in their meds, or go to detox...

              • Both sides need to compromise. The airline really ought to make its flights more comfortable, and the customers do need to chill out and recognize that the next few hours are going to be less than optimal. Unless you're rich enough to afford your own private plane (or at least first class), there are some things you really can't do much about (namely, other passengers) and the best thing to do is just relax.

But yes, the airline could stand to spread its seats out a little more; nobody likes having their knees tucked under their chin. And wider seats wouldn't kill them, either. They're not hurting that badly for space, considering how many planes take off half-full.

The perfect Catch-22 situation - employee follows established rules but is written up for customer complaint despite being told they followed procedure correctly.

I would have given manager the single-digit salute and walked out...

                    • I agree. That would have been a very good time to tell that mismanager that they if they think they're writing me up for following orders, they can kiss my books. (In other words, I'd quit on the spot.)
Customers should always be served . . . to the nearest great white.

This one really ticks me off in that the OP's manager watched this happen and did absolutely NOTHING to stop it or help OP after the incident!

How can you be a manager at a game store and not know what the term "game launch" means?

I was later told that the woman in question was ‘expecting a baby’ and therefore we should ‘expect a bit of irrational behavior.’
                            Oh. Hell. No.

Pregnancy is absolutely no reason to be abusive and violent towards anyone else. I wish I'd been there; that bitch would've gotten an earful from me.

Yes, I've been pregnant, and I've been irrational during that time. I wept at odd times, had nightmares, couldn't think straight some days. But I would never have even considered belittling and hitting someone like the bitch in the link did.

And yes, the manager should've stepped in. She would've had every right to throw Slappy McBitchface out of the pub. That's part of being a bar manager.
