I would count out wadded money very slowly, too, first straightening each bill, then organizing, then counting.

I must have looked pretty peeved because once (and only once...) the sc took all the money back and straightened it herself, apologizing for her rudeness.

if i tell you your card was declined, i'm doing it fairly quietly out of respect for your privacy; don't get pissy with me when this happens. i don't control your spending habits, YOU DO. if you overcharge, it will get declined eventually. keep that in mind.
I was reading something about banks and credit cards/bank cards. How you will overspend, but the bank won't have the card decline, rather they let the transaction continue then charge an overdraft fee. And worse, they'll run the biggest transaction, so with one transaction you could wipe out your account, but then you might have multiple transactions of smaller amounts, and those arn't covered, and you have to pay an overdraft fee for each transaction.

I don't know if this is SC behavoir, but I will give coins, so if the cost was $4.32, I'll give the .32cents in coins. And I'll give the money and ask "is that alright?/enough?" Mostly because I sometimes miscount, and I don't want to give too little and start digging in my purse for my keys or something I noticed and the cashier thinks I'm getting more change and just stand there, and I'm thinking I gave enough and keep on digging....
Time! Time! Time is what turns kittens into cats.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.

Not all banks are the same on that one. For instance, Bank of America doesn't do that. I've had times where I have legitimately overdrafted, and as long as I had enough money in the account by the time they opened next, I haven't been hit with any fees.

Wells Fargo, however, actually was fined some huge amount for doing that because it's not actually legal, but they still do it. My brother got hit a couple of times before he gave up and closed his account with them. WF will also put a hold on paychecks, which is illegal in the state of California. That doesn't stop them, however.

          Payment aggravation:

-putting cash on the counter when I clearly have my hand extended to receive it. You can bet your change is going on the counter instead of into your outstretched hand.
I was also thinking this when reading the post. Don't throw your damn money down at me. Put it into my hand, jerk.
Excuse me, good sir paladin, can you direct me to your EVIL district?

Actually Bank of America does it too. You got the money in before close of business so it didn't matter. I had it happen where I forgot about an online order for diapers. They overdrafted that and my small purchase and then another small purchase 5 days later. I joke that it the most expensive pair of diapers I've ever bought.

Count me in as someone who organizes her money. As soon as it's outta the ATM, it goes in my wallet, in order by denomination, faced, and usually so the ickiest looking bills are set up to be spent first. When I carry it in my pocket, I do the "MI" roll, according to my father - smallest bills on the outside, so I don't look like I'm carrying more than a wad 'o' ones.
I do pretty much the same thing, but biggest bills go on the bottom.

Usually my cash looks like this: 20s, 10s, 5s, and then singles. Occasionally I have a 50 or 100, but not often. I get smaller bills for them.

Before I left Sears a few years ago, they started putting the brand name, style name, stock number, color, regular price, sale price, "select styles only" (on every sign it seemed), the dates of the sale and "see associate for details". I was so excited when I say the larger-than-microscopic print "see associate for details" part. I thought my fighting about signs days were over.

"Ma'am/sir, all the signs say 'see associate for details.' I am an associate and I'm telling you that you are not getting this $50 thingamajig for $10."

But. , customer would bitch, ask for a manager, and the managers would cave every time. *sigh*.
"What size can I get you, ma'am?"
                "Red."
"Okay...I'll check the red for you, but what size do you need?"
                "RED!"
                "..."
