I felt sorry...
... for the poor employees at my regular store, the (in)famous Penny Markt on the Reeperbahn, try googling it. They are running with only minimal crew, despite being a weekend with a special event in the area of town.
I'm on good terms with all employees, so one of them told me about the disaster looming over their heads. When I came to the register, that employee worked the register. I found a chocolate box labeled "Good Luck Charms" at the impulse purchase racks, grabbed one, and after paying, gave it to employee to put it on the table in their break room for all of them to eat. The huge smile and "Awwwww how sweet! Thank you so much!" from her really made my day.
