    but as usual the navy won't say what really happened.

    The CO of the Cowpens was relieved from duty immediately, following charges of "cruelty" and "conduct unbecoming an officer"

    (and yes, "conduct unbecoming" usually means something sexual, but the "cruelty" part is what got my attention)

    it hasn't even been a week yet and they've already changed the picture of the CO on the ship's home page. that was one FAST change of command.

    had to search online for the unofficial news..

    apparently she put her hands around a junior officer's throat in a fit of anguish...

    pretty much you're not suppose to choke your subordinates.

          I'm just relieved that "Cowpens" was the name of a ship.
          Now the trouble about trying to make yourself stupider than you really are is that you very often succeed.

              Carriers are named after presidents/important figures.

              Cruisers are named after battles.

              Destroyers are named after famous naval heroes.
