Guh.
On the way to work this morning, I got dropped off by the bus and proceeded, as always, to walk to the store, which is about a block and a half, hell only 5 minutes (0.2 miles according to google maps...)
As I approach another bus stop along the way I see a man, dressed all in black with a red baseball cap and carrying a large stick, kind of like a dowel you find at craft stores, easily 2 to 2.5 feet long. Nope, not weird at all.
He asks me if I know when the next bus runs, I tell him I don't catch that line, but if he goes to the previous stop just a few feet away, they have posters of the estimated scheduled times along all the routes that stop serves.
He starts following me instead! Telling me how he was attacked by this huge scary red pit bull and that he was seriously freaking out, punctuating his statements by swinging the stick. I start walking a little faster...and he keeps following me, trying to engage me in conversation.
At one point, he explained he'd been bitten by a Rottweiler as a kid and it really messed him up, and proceeds to strip his shirt off to show me.
I am at this point ignoring him, but he speeds up and starts walking next to me.
Him: hey, you walkin'?
Me: yup.
Him: where you walkin' to, how long you goin'? I can keep you company.
Me: No. I'm just walking to work.
Him: Where you work.
Me: <I wave in the general vicinity of the store> Just up ahead, I'm almost there! (thank you gods!)
I hurry across the street, unlock the doors and rush inside. As I turn around to lock the doors, he's crossing the street and heading for the building!
It's at this point I duck into the back, run up to my boss' office and tell her to hide me. I explain what happened and just sit in her office chair, shaking a little. This is the same path I took when I was attacked/fondled/something worse was attempted a couple years back, so yeah...
I went back downstairs to let one of the cashiers in, who also rides the bus, and asked her if she saw the guy I described and she said no, so hopefully he's not coming back, but geez. >.<
Maybe I overreacted some, but the way he kept swinging the stick, and the fact that he wouldn't leave me alone, speeding up when I sped up and all that had me more than a little nervouse...
Now I'm all nervous and twitchy for the day.
