As for worse, maybe some Bible Black or Urotsukidoji will be a nice clue-by-4 to the head on what IS perverted and sick.
Yeah, let's send them some La Blue Girl or something. See what they make of that.

If you're looking for some interesting non-standard manga, you might want to check out Hikaru no Go. The characters are fantastic. You'd never know a comic about playing go could be that interesting.

There's also Kodomo no Omocha aka Kodocha aka Child's Toy. The main characters are grade school age, but there are some serious issues discussed. There's also a ton of slapstick, too, so be prepared.

As for anime, if you want an intriguing and somewhat dark story, try Perfect Blue. The same group did another one called Millenium Actress, but I haven't seen it.

    .....

Did you know that even the copies of Urotsukidoji that say they're uncut are cut? Some porn studio did a translation way back and there's a scene early on that isn't in any of the more recent translations....

    ... I'll go hide, now ...

Dude, as a poor, nerdy kid with little in the way of summer activities, spending the day at the library was a god-send. I wore out my library card because I was always checking stuff out, only to bring it back the next day to re-stock.

Sorry, but none of those can even compare to Bible Black. That show is seriously fucked up. Futanari mixed with demons and other odd stuff is just beyond what I can describe. La Blue Girl is just silly...especially since my favorite male seiyuu is Nin-Nin. Perfect Blue is messed up, but not like Bible Black. Same with Urotsukidoji.

Heyeeeaaahhh...I've been guilty of sitting in the aisle sometimes. But that's only to see the ones on the bottom shelf. My knees give out if I crouch too long so I sit. But if I see someone that needs t get through I will stand and apologize. I love manga and my Walden's Bookstore and will not jeopardize my being there with being a total douche.
          SC: Hey, watch it fatty!
Me:Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to trip you. Here, let me help you up. *reaches down, helps him up and shoves him out of the store.* ( i know juvenile, but good results.) He stumbles into his friends, falls past the metal detectors and the alarms start going off. A mall cop comes up and arrests them. Turns out, they had a whole series of "adult" manga in their pants (go figure). I then picked up my books, their stolen goods and went back to that section and fixed it, replaceing what they took. I then payed and left, laughing in my head as I passed them being escorted from the building with their moms yelling and ranting behind them. Ah justice.
Funny story I sit down sometimes too. If some kid called me "fatty" I'd pick him up and strangle the hell out of that little crap head. Anyway, on to my response to the post, I've seen kids reading the manga and then they go AND BEND THE PAGES OF THE BOOK. That REALLY pisses me off. I won't buy a book that's been bent up like that. I'm also tired of little 'tards running up and down the manga section, grabbing books off the shelf as I'm about to get it to take a look. One more thing: I have tripped over people lying in the aisles and hurt myself before. >_>

I've been curious about Bible Black (especially if it's anything like Mai-chan's Daily Life), but I really want to look for Elfen Lied. Thankfully the two bookstores I frequent are fairly empty of such malevolent malcontents... except at the first saturday of the month when we get our Yu-Gi-Oh! players.

...which reminds me, I should get back to work on drawing my own, little manga. >.<

Oh come on. Yes there are some general comedic elements, but really, that hardly seems fair to label every genre of an entire countries animation style over. Such generalities happen EVERYWHERE in the world in different ways.

Exactly. That attitude drives me NUTS! OMG!!!! SOME NUDITY!!!!!! TEH PRRRROOOONNNN!!!!! Bah, Ptooie.

Can you give us a heads up what that might be? I don't read Manga or Anime, so I'd be interested to read what your version of perverted/sick is.

Trust me, you are better of not knowing.

But if you must..... this is what sick anime is. The Guro genre.

I suggest you don't go beyond this link. Not unless you are very sick, or, like me, very densensitized.

Yeah, color me baffled. And the really bizarre part? It's not even a particularly offensive scene. You know... if you ignore the whole demon with tentacles thing going on... but nobody dies or is even injured, and yet that scene has been cut out of all but one translation I've run across.

.... ok... back to my hidey box ...

I remember when Battle Royale was the only manga that was shrink wrapped. Anyone who has read it will see why. I own it, and love it. (Loved cosplaying as Kiriyama)

Gabrielle Proctor, I know enough to know that avatar is from MARS, the only other manga series I own.

Yeah, you can't get much more varied than that!

                      sneezed clothes off?

Ahhh, yes Negima. From the author of Love Hina. The two manga have so much in common, one guy and 30 females who all have a crush on him. And every single page has a new, creative way of removing one of said girl's clothing.
I've got most of the 13 issues first run of the series. (I think I lack numbers 5, 6, 12, and the latest, 14. As Manga go, Mahou Sensei Negi (negima by del rey) is pretty tame. When you boil it all down, the Manga is something of a satirical version of Harry Potter. Though, to be quite honest, the "sneezing clothing off" only occurs in the First, and second books. It's not happened since. Either way, it's not that bad a comic really, far better than some of the others I've seen. Ironically enough, Cardcaptor Sakura's manga would top that list for hints of incest between two of the main characters...

Yeah, I'm a manga nut. Can you tell?

Okay, so Urd and Skuld are hiding somewhere, right? And Banpei is keeping Mr. Keiichi at bay? I love that series. It finally took almost 15 years for them to make the tv series, and it's so worth the wait. I just wish Dark Horse would get of their lazy arses and get the damned manga out on time for once!

ETA: I love the detail! It's so good. ^_^

                        DDD: Cuz it's cool

So, by using the Doctor's reasoning, bow ties, fezzes and bandanas are cool.

Hey, when you have hardly any friends and you only meet on weekends, what else is there to do then to go to the library and bookstore and read. I love books and movies, so I will be seen frequently at Waldens, the library, or family video. The people who work there know me a first name basis. They say "hi" and what kind of sales they got going on and I'll thank them and go on my merry way.

I'm not really into much anime except Megatokyo, Angel Sancturary, Yoen Buzz(new series), Yotosobu, and a few others that I have no idea how to spell off the top of my head. I love the old marvels (and new zombie series) and am greatful they are side by side instead of up front(manga) and way in the back(marvel).

Our library can get pretty bad with kids. Specially during the school year. The public middle school is right across the street and when they let out, all the little brats come out to play. There will be a group of them that run around inside, yelling and screaming, misplacing books and messing with the puppets. They'll be asled to leave, so they'll sit out front on the steps(in plain veiw of the front desk) and harass patrons and yell cuse words at passerbys. I sucks.

Family video is about the same as the library. Mom with kids = loud and annoying. I'll be patrolling the 2 for a $1 section cause I can get a ton for less and they're good independent movies I love, and the movies that I want have seem to mysteriously dissappeared behind a different box. Like, I wanted to get Not Another Teen Movie cause I haven't seen it in a while and guess what I found behind the box? Nightmare Before Christmas(nothing wrong with that one, it's one of my favories, but not the one I was looking for.) I spy with my little eye, a youngster starring at me, giggling like a maniac.

                            me:So, where'd ya put it?
gcgiggling child)it's a game, you'll have to find it!

i just got done with a really bad shift at work and then having gone home to a really pissed off dad, I am SO not in the mood for hide the movie and piss off the teenager. I glare at the child before she runs off crying to her mom. The mom storms over, starts yelling at me for scaring her little angel( funny, huh?) when my great friend Miranda (who happens to be the manager) walks over and scolds the mother for yelling at me, when it twas her "little " that should be yelled at. The mother steps off, but glares at me the rest of the time I was in there. I thank Miranda and take my movies and leave. I hate that SOOOO much!!!!!
Just because they serve you, doesn't mean they like you. And just because they smile and act polite doesn't mean they aren't planning to destroy you.
