As a cashier I have no problem with someone opening something with a set price. I've seen people wait 5, 10 minutes in line, dying of thirst. I told them, "We don't mind if you drink while you wait." But weighable stuff? Yeah, totally stealing if it doesn't get paid for. (I love the idea, actually, of counting the grapes and weighing that amount. Works for me!)

It's men, too--specifically my dad. And why would anyone eat it after other people have touched it?

Reminds me, I picked up a mango at the store recently, didn't have any smell, so put it RIGHT up to my nose trying to pick up a scent...apparently this sub-species doesn't come with one...so what did I do after shoving it almost up my nose?

Put it in a plastic bag with the rest of my fruits and vegetables I was going to purchase, I wouldn't dare to put it back on the shelf for some other poor unsuspecting shopper.
