I'm irritated

A group was discussing our family histories on a message board and I had made a comment about my great grandfather being Irish nobility. This stuck up, snide, thinks she knows everything about the Middle Ages because she's in the SCA... woman rudely tells me there's no such thing as Irish nobility.
Fortunately for her someone else posted a link to all the kinds of people who can be called Irish nobility, because I would have gone off on her the way she likes to go off on others.

Why would someone butt in on something they (obviously) know nothing about that's extremely easy to verify? People are odd. And irritating. Mostly irritating.
