My I.T department blocked this site from work. Now how can I entertain myself while walking someone through log in issues for the millionth time?

Sadly, nothing works. My hubby is in I.T and we tried everything. They have it marked as porn They're systematically blocking all sorts of stuff. Google translate is even blocked, they may be able to block my internet but they can never take away my ipod video ::sniffle::"If all else fails...blame the dog"

May I suggest subscribing to Happy Tree Friends on Podcast - it's free and damn funny if you like that sort of thing (and given your RC avatar I'd guess you do)Lady, people aren't chocolates. D'you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling. Dr Cox - Scrubs

There are ways of making this work. If I need to ever get around a corporate firewall, I configure a ssh tunnel to a server running a proxy server then use localhost has my proxy and suddenly all the web is not only avaliable, but my traffic is encrypted so noone can watch me. ;-)

Try using the IP address... http://www.samspade.org will map domain names to IP addresses.
EDIT: Of course if your IT is default-blocking all IPs except ones they want (which imo is ridiculous) that wouldn't work.Last edited by Dreamstalker; 04-04-2007, 12:58 PM."I am quite confident that I do exist."

Ilovemygeek, before you try any of the things that are listed here, take a moment and think,
Is trying to get to CS.com at work worth my job??
If the IT department is locking things down that deep, it's for a reason. If they find you getting around it, you're going to probably get in some deep trouble.
If you have one, check the employee handbook. There should be a section on internet usage. If you find they're going against their own policy, then it might be safe to bring it up to someone.

LOL, I'm not too worried about getting in trouble. A. I'm the only one who does what I do at work. In fact when I am on vacation I STILL have to check in remotely. B. Me and hubby are trying to reolocate to another state and have our house on the market. C. We own our own side company so If I got fired I'd just start free-lancing for myself a little earlier. All in all, I think I could strip down nekkid and run laps up and down the hall and still not get fired LOL"If all else fails...blame the dog"
