Default Stupid phone calls this first hour

Second person to call the library today had a question: if she is breaking any rules if she dates the father of the guy dating her daughter. It was hard to google that so I got her info and I was surprised she had an email address. Then she wanted to know what was the name of the song on our hold music. Then she tells me she asked already before, and she just saw the email response we sent her on Tuesday, where we said we don't have that information but will work on it more and contact her again.

Then the dude who calls for IMDB info. on soap opera and soft-core porn actresses had a question. He started off about how there was movie Bob Crane starred in called The Wicked Dreams of Paula Schultz, and of course I'm thinking how Bob Crane died making porn or something. There was an actual movie by that name, though this dude wanted to know the year, the director and the plot. IMDB was no help in the plot, though wikipedia did help.

Another idiot wanted the death date and birth date of his dad. He first stated that his dad was born in 1982; this guy on the phone sounded at least 50. After questioning the birth date, he corrected himself and said 1982 was the death date. I find the dates and of course he wants me to mail the information to him. Damn people are lazy. I told him no, I just can give him the dates over the phone.

You know, I never did get the concept that you "can't" date certain people, like you can't date your friend's ex or whatever. I know some states have laws about marrying people you're related to (no jokes, please, and no fratching stuff), but this person's question just....

Where would you even look to see if there was an accepted "rule" about that?

So far as I know, so long as they're just dating and don't make it "official", it's legal. In some jurisdictions, however, if the older couple gets married, then the younger couple's affair is considered incestuous (since in the eyes of the law, they would become brother and sister). In a few other jurisdictions, it's more complicated - if the older couple gets married, then the younger couple's affair is considered incestuous UNLESS the younger couple gets married BEFORE the older couple does, in which case everything's perfectly legal.

That dating situation was a plot point in Dave Barry's book Big Trouble; The main character meets his love interest because their kids are dating, but once they get together their kids break up because it's too weird.

I read that as The Lonely Grave of Paula Schulz from "Kill Bill". Guess I found out where the name came from.

Bob Crane didn't die making porn, though making home porn may have led to his death. He was murdered in 1978; the murder is still unsolved. It's a creepy story.

This plot was covered in the movie "Because I Said So" with Mandy Moore and Diane Keaton. It also got covered in the show "One Day At A Time" from the 70s.

Don't ask me why I know these random facts I just do . But basically I think it's cool, and basically the kids got together before the parents which is interesting.

I'm not familiar with either that book or movie or tv show, unfortunately. Though I did read a lot of Dave Barry's books. I did like the book where he made fun of the band he was in with Stephen King and Amy Tan.

But what I remember is the Simpson's episode where Marge's mom Jacqueline Bouvier and Grandpa Simpson started to date, and HOmer was freaking out, thinking his and Marge's kids were going to look like freaks with pink skin and five fingers

I would think Jerry Springer.
