  • No really, I'm sure Michigan is lovely

Customer called today wanting to arrange estimate for repairs to her cottage nearby. She also a had a verbal tic, after every statement she would ask 'Is that okay?' Every time she asked that I would take a mental assesment to see if that was okay with me, even though I knew she wasn't really asking.

I'm taking her details and we get to the phone number
Her: It's 248, is that okay?
    Me: OK
Her: It's 248 because we live in Michigan, is that okay?
Me: It's okay with me, I don't have to live there.

It was just the 30th time I'd been asked if that was okay in less than 4 minutes and the voices in my head were getting too loud to contain.
Pain and suffering are inevitable...misery is optional.

Oh the verbal tics. I have a coworker who says "And all that" after about every sentence or question. I love her, but she's in a supervisory position now, and talking to clients families, police, judges and higher ups. I worry that it will harm her in the long run.

I work with someone who says "and stuff" after a lot of her comments. It's kind of funny. She's a good worker and nice person, so it doesn't bother me. I find that verbal tics are more annoying if I already don't like the person
When you start at zero, everything's progress.
