At the end of his transaction, information entered, labels printed, and all charges rung in on the register:
SC: I have a thing that says I get 20% off.
Me: Oh, ok, a coupon?
SC: Well its kind of a membership thing and they have all these benefits and one of them is discounted shipping with you guys. Its called <some obscure junk spam magazine/club>.
Me: Hmm, ok, do you have a membership card or a coupon with you?
SC: No, don't you have like a list with that information?
Me: Well yes, but I've never heard of the one you're referring to, its not on the list so I'd have to see some kind of documentation for it.
SC: Hang on, I have the magazine in my car. *goes and gets it*
SC: Here, right here, DHL shipping. Thats you, right?
Me: No, we are UPS, DHL is a different carrier.
SC: *getting pissed* Oh didn't UPS buy out that company or something?
Me: Hmm, nope.
SC: Well can I get the 28% off? UPS is listed in there!
Me: (wasn't it 20% off just a second ago?) No, I'm sorry, I'd have to see documentation of some kind saying you are entitled to a discount.
SC: Fine I guess I'll have to go ahead and pay for it! I know I have it at home somewhere! I'm going to bring it back in, and when I do I'm going to ask to see your supervisor for a refund!
Me: Ok.
I tacked on a $10 PITA fee. I doubt theres a coupon for that.
