Default Pick a card, any card ...

A customer was coming through my line and I was more or less on autopilot ... and my autopilot wasn't functioning too well.

Customer: *holds up card* "MasterCard"

Me: "Oh, I'm sorry, sir, we don't take that."

Customer:

Me: *brain reboots* "OMG, I'm so sorry, sir, it's AMERICAN EXPRESS that we don't take. Go ahead ..."

I told him management was going to HAVE to let us start bringing us coffee to our stations. He laughed, paid for his purchases, and went on his way.

Thank whatever gods there be for customers with a sense of humour ...

What a tricky post. When someone talks of cards, I expect something quite different . . .

May you get your coffee.

Right?? I thought of "pick a card" as in tarot pick a card! I know you went there.
