    Apparently, skipping rocks across a frozen lake makes a damn cool sound...

      I knew, as I've done it before, but that's from the time before camcorders.

      It almost sounds like what you'd use for a blaster of some sort in a sci-fi flick. (Trivia; the iconic blaster sounds in Star Wars were caused by basically whacking a tuning fork against a radio tower's guy wires)

          couple of others,
          Luke's landspeeder engine: Freeway recorded through a PVC pipe
          Lightsaber: 35mm cinema projecter mixed with the sound of a faulty microphone cable picking up interference from being waved in front of a TV

            Chewie's voice -- Driving on a gravel driveway + animal sounds + somebody's grandma, all mixed together, possibly with some other stuff in there.
