  • America, we're sorry - Australia

For the last few years, Coles (one of the big two Australian supermarkets), has had an infamous 'Down Down' campaign, utilising the Status Quo song of the same name, and a pile of infamous big red hands.

There was also a spin off to the tune of 'Whatever You Want'

And a lesser known variant to the tune of Petula Clark's 'Downtown'

I much prefer this Miley Cyrus parody of the ad

Well now the jolly folk of the US get to be treated to the big red hand, with Bi-Lo and WinnDixie getting their own version (courtesy of the same guy that brought in the Coles ads) - this time it's Dolly Parton's '9 to 5' being destroyed

Ironically Bi-Lo was a former Coles brand that Coles wiped in 2007 (though the Australian and US Bi-Lo brands are completely separate)

Bi-Lo? Somehow that reminds me of Buy n Large from the Wall-E movie.

I remember there was a few branches of Bi-Lo in Norfolk/Virginia Beach/Portsmouth VA when I lived there, in the 80s. I preferred shopping at FarmFresh [frequently the 21st Street one, I worked near there and it was easy to hit on the way home from work.]

And here I was thinking after reading the thread title was "what abomination of a creature broke containment?"
