You saw the riots in 2011, someone forgot to put gravy on an SC's poutine.

Crazy 'Muricans. Us Canadians do not take lightly to Police using weapons that are dangerous to the public. You should see what we do when they use a Taser on someone.
      Too soon, man.

I just talked to Mall security and apparently those werent just shotguns we saw, they were AR17 assault rifles! Apparently this person was wanted Canada wide and they suspected that he was here so went all out.
Probably AR15s. The 17s are shotguns & aren't made anymore.

hope they catch the guy though.

... someone forgot to put gravy on an SC's poutine.

And just a quickie addendum - several of the boys I knew back in Chicago were of the opinion that a shotgun is most effective when NOT used. They have a bit of an intimidation thing going for them that can make it unnecessary to fire any shots. Always a good thing. (Depending on the situation, of course.)

it all depends on the situation. there's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all for stuff like that. even "intimidation" can be the wrong answer depending on the situation.

So we're agreed it depends on the situation?

That's actually one of the main arguments for the AR-15 or AK variants that are out there as well.

And of course, the variations in the situation are a big part of the reason that we have all the different kinds of firearm out there. Each has a niche.
