So many stories to tell, where to start.
SC decided to haggle over price of a small accessory item that is normally $20 but on special for $7.
A camera that is normally $40 on sale for $32 - "But that is only $8 off" - "That is 20% off" "but it's only $8"
Store is absolutely packed full of customers. Customer comes to me - "Do you sell [brand]" "Yes" (leads him over to them) "Do you have [make]" "Yes" (shows it to him). Customer then asks about what it can do etc, asks if it is possible to do certain things, and gets me to show him. "So it's a pretty good one then" "Absolutely, and we have them on special, I'll get one for you" "No I've already bought one on online, and needed some help using it. thankyou" F-you - you just wasted half an hour of my time on the busiest day of the year.
Lots and lots of SC's want to buy various products - "Is this on sale" "no that particular one isn't" then they put it back and walk out.
SC's complaining that they can't get served / lines are too long etc - well hello, it is the post-Christmas sales - we have all staff working, we have temporary registers set up - what more can we do? If you want the discount, waiting in line is the price you pay. You are welcome to come back any other time in the year and you will be served promptly, with minimal wait - oh yeah, you'll pay full price too.
This one isn't really an SC, it's just one of those shitty things that happens in retail, and happens at the worst possible time - a lady had a heart attack in the store, and in doing so the poor old dear pissed and shit herself (which went over an area of the floor). So we had to have a few staff tied up dealing with that situation. This is where the SC's come in - While we were waiting for the ambulance, we had SC's want the staff who were helping her, to assist them with purchases. We had SC's want to get into the area where she collapsed so they could buy whatever discounted product it was. We had complaints because the ambulance parked them in. We had SC's who tried walking over the soiled area of the floor when we were trying to get it cleaned. Amazes me how getting a discount can take so much priority for some customers that they lose all elements of human kindness.
Not our store, but I couldn't believe when I heard news reports - customers were camping outside stores since Christmas afternoon so they could be first in to get their sale items. Don't these people have a life?!?!?!
