I really don't know what the heck is wrong with people. Note, I'm still upset with what happened, so if I'm a little incoherient, sorry.
First, a woman comes up to me asking for help on the copier. I go to help her and when I come back to my station a guy (in a blue sweat suit) is using the phone. No one gave him permission. On the back of the phone is a sign that says "staff phone only." There is also a note in front that says it's not a public phone but it's missing. I tell the guy this is not a public phone and point out the sign. I tell him there is a phone in the first floor and he at first was ok, but then he starts to say, "you own this phone? you pay for it with your own money?" It sounded like he was joking so I jokingly said, "yes.' Then he asked if I worked her 24 hours a day 7 days a week and so I ignored him, since I was helping the woman trying to make copies to add money to her card. he then talks about how I was grabbing the phone out of his hands and how I shouldn't disrespect him. I tell him again about the phone downstairs, hoping he would leave. He kept on talking about how I disrespected him and how I wouldn't want him to get teach me manners.
So he goes away. About 5 min. latter a guy passes me by and says, "Man, help me out." It seemed he was directing this to me but since I'm not a man, and there are several other men around, I ignore him until he asks again for help. He shows me his card and shows me the reservation screen. I see his number on reserved on computer #66. I double check on my station and see that the number he showed me on his card is the number reserved on the computer. So I go to the computer and tell the guy on it that someone is logged in on that computer. I didnt' recognize it was the same guy who was using the phone. Of course he got nasty with me. He first was saying how he put the computer on pause to the phone and then I sent him downstairs to use the phone, and how can he not be logged into the computer. I pointed out that this guy has the card with the number that shows he has this computer. The guy who went to me about the computer was telling me he wanted his minutes back, and the other guy in the blue sweat suit was telling me that how he paused the computer and how can it not be his computer. Now I noticed he had 56 min. on the computer, and it's been more than 5 min. since I last saw him. But the computer that make reservations shows me the number that is logged in the computer, and since this second guy has the card then I believe it's the second guy. So the second guy starts saying it's bullcorn, I tell him not to say anything. The guy in blue starts to tell me to fuck off, go fuck myself, etc. I tell him I'm going to call security. Then this other guy in a green jacket tells me that I'm a liar, that I lied to the other guy about owning the phone. I start going to my station and I use the phone to call security. The guy in blue walks toward me and he makes a threat. Now I forgot what the threat was. It wasn't exactly that he said he was going to hit me but I guess I was too bothered by this whole mess that my mind went blank. He said something like, "So I got that man's password memorized?" I shrug. I go to the Telephone Reference room to find someone in authority to deal with him but I can't find a manager. I come back outside, and the man would not shut up, saying that I'm causing a problem, and I tell him to keep his voice down he is disturbing people and of course he says "I got to talk it's all I have." He asked if I have a degree, and I say yes, and he says I don't have any manners. I go back to the Telephone Reference room and he tells me, "that's right, run away." I finally see security and the police and of course the man left. One other patron helps out a bit by saying he saw him on the plaza.
Anyway, big mess, and since I can't remember exactly what he said there's nothing really to do. The cop said she would come up again to check on me and she did.
But I'm so sick and tired of all these assants who are abusive.
