Our apparel manager, aka The Ice Princess, is leaving the swamp in July. She got a job at one of our "express" stores, which is a drugstore on the order of Walgreens, Rite-Aid and so forth. (People near one of these will know what company I work for.)
In getting this job she's fulfilled her career aspirations of winning less work. I mean, this is a person who's been overheard saying "I don't do any work down there because I have people to do it for me." These express stores are smaller and less busy.
The talk now is that the lady who was our apparel manager before Ice Princess may be coming back. She works at the flagship store as their apparel manager, which is a pretty primo gig, but she still lives in town and is tired of commute. I really liked her. She knew her stuff, kept all her employees in the loop as to what was going on, and wasn't afraid to do any physical work.
Oh please, let her come back.
