Online sites tend to give a heads-up if the name on the credit card statement won't have an obvious connection to the name of the site. Physical stores, not so much.

Troof. There's a particular restaurant I sometimes go to for lunch that always makes me do a doubletake on the credit card statement. It shows up as something like "IRQH." So, cue me going "WTF is this name that looks like something you'd see in a blue screen of death?"

I always forget about that. But, then again, I also forget the restaurant's actual name anyway!
