Anyhoo, it's very easy to fix it when that happens. You call us. We tell you to remove the software, you then do a clean install, the activation program thinks it's at home and is happy. Three more clicks and you're done.

... this guy is an IT? and he doesn't know that many programs edit the regedit files? that just copying them over to another computer won't cut it?

heck if he wants easy software tell him to buy a mac. most programs will work if you just drag them to the applications folder, though you will still need to use the activation code when first using it.

I tend to agree with this assessment. Imaging is not really cost-effective for
only one or two clones of an original. Unless, of course, he pirated the imaging
software......

You make a dangerous assumption, grasshopper: Ghost4UNIX is Free Software, and will do the imaging work just fine.
