Battle Royal was mind scarring. But not as mind scarring as Uzumaki. <shiver>

    The spirals, always the spirals.....

On the other hand the low budget live action movie of Uzumaki was *hilarious*.

And I don't think anyone actually loves EVA, it's just kind of a rite of passage to consider yourself a "true" fan of anime. Watching it is kind of like prison rape. You're just supposed to try to relax and let it happen, and you feel dirty afterwards but try to go on as if it never happened.
*snrk* That has got to be one of the best descriptions of how to watch Eva I've ever read! I've had it and never actually finished it. It just wore too much and I gave up. I do have a figure Nekojin got me recently of an experimental prototype angel girl with wings. I have a thing for wings...

BeBop is good for a more serious title. Outlaw Star is fun. Trigun is fun (I'm a fan of smiling Vash and plan to one day cosplay as Millie). Hellsing is a romp, quite bloody at times, and the English dub is superb, especially Integra ("They're eating my people.")

Gah. The bf tried to get me into that once (specifically, fan-done IY porn...yes, that does exist. I'm not sure whether to be surprised or not).
There are doujinshi for pretty much every series that ever was even remotely popular out there. And for every tame doujin, you've also got at least one hentai doujin, and often also at least one yaoi doujin (guy x guy). I don't get yaoi, myself. And I really dislike when they do a doujin where the characters act out of character. Those are just trading off the popularity of the characters and aren't really for fans.

Heh. Most Naruto fans don't know that Uzumaki means spiral.

That made me think of another series, though, called Spiral. It's a bit of a psycho thriller, and rather intriguing. I had watched the entire anime series fansubbed and rather enjoyed it. I have the opening theme on my playlist, too.

One of my favorite AMVs is an Evangelion one to the song Engel by Rammstein. Very well done and a perfect fit.

If anyone cares, I have this figure, but with red from the hand and elbow instead of blue. It's the best looking of the four.

Really? I remember watching it when it was first airing. It was interesting at first but then it became such a ridiculous leap in logic every episode till finally I was just sitting there going "....ok, WHY are they even doing this?". Plus the male lead is kind of a douche. -.-

On a side not my currently watching anime folder is 41.7 gig.... >.> That's just stuff I'm watching thats airing right now. Not complete series I have saved or anything.

Saw Outlaw Star and while it was good enough to get me through the end, I wouldn't really pursue watching it again. Loved Trigun, though. I need to get Hubby to cosplay as Vash sometime (he's got the buil and hair for it, with a little hair gel) so I can cosplay as Meryl (even though I'm too tall. Maybe I should do Rem instead...). I would, of course, make a Kuroneko-sama hat for my baby. And I've seen most of Hellsing and just sort of lost interest by the end.

But maybe I'm just weird. I played through all of FF7 and didn't really see the "OMGthisisthegreatestgameevar!" appeal that so much of the Final Fantasy community sees. I prefer FF9 and FF10.

Search for Naraku and Shikon shards......
Sprinkle in occasional (Kagome goes home to her world, falls behind in life, Inuyasha shows up, causes mess, return to other world together)

Repeat till the Sun dies of heat death.

                    Inuyasha Character flow.

                    1. Ranma and Akane..... er... I mean Inuyasha and Kagome like each other, both are to stubborn to admit it, Inuyasha says something insensitive, Kagome overreacts, they argue, Kagome punishes Inuyasha, which pisses of Inuyasha they argue.....

                    2. Miroku and Sango like each other, both are to stubborn to admit it, Share a shy moment, Miroku perverts it up to avoid admitting his feelings, Sango beats him up, recovery leads to share a shy moment, Miroku perverts it up.....

                    3. Shippo insults Inuyasha, Inuyasha hits Shippo, Kagome punishes Inuyasha for it, Shippo then insults Inuyasha.....

                    4. Kilala looks cute, turns tough, looks cute, turns tough, looks cute, turns tough....

                    Minor recurring characters

                    5. Koga comes along, Love triangle, see part 1, add Koga pisses of Inuyasha and sucks up to Kagome.

                    6. Kikyo comes along, see part 1, add Kagome gets Jealous.

                    7. Myoga comes along, bites Inuyasha, Inuyasha flattens him, he despenses advice the leaves, Myoga comes along, bites Inuyasha.....

I wont even bother with the villains.

Repeat until the Moon sinks into Jupiter.

The ONLY redeeming thing is Seshoumaru, he is a badass, and has actual character growth and development.... for the mere 7 episodes a cycle he shows up for....

Like I mentioned earlier, she bails out partway through and it gets taken over by ghostwriters who then milk it for the production company until the cows come home.

I have all 10 of Pet Shop of Horrors. I really like that series because, like someone already mentioned, SC's get theirs!

My favorite would be Hellsing and I'm about to kill someone for all the waiting I have had to do to get volume 8. I think it should be shrink wrapped, the violence in hellsing is unparalled with any other manga I have ever read.

I have never owned Inuyasha. I knew I would get frustrated with the series just because of my experience with Ranma 1/2(also done by Rumiko Takahashi). I have refrained from owning Full Metal Alchemist or Naruto. Just knowing what kind of fan base something has can determine if it is something you will regret collecting(not ALWAYS true, I have a special place in my heart for Sailor Moon, but I hate most of the fan base).

I have to admit, most of the people collecting Manga are one of these few:

                          1: Shoplifting, shrinkwrap removing brat.
2: Browser but not a buyer, likes to take up the whole floor. Usually will correspond with number 1.
3: Buys a crap load of manga before realizing that they hate the series. The only reason they buy so much is to act like a complete ass when they proclaim the number of manga they posses(I know a girl like this).

I however, will only read (and then it's just skimming) a manga if it is volume one and it looks promising. If I am thinking of collecting it, I'll do a bit of research and then decide that moment if I will buy it or not. I never sit on the floor and read right there in the bookstore. It isn't a library people!

Full Metal Alchemist is a *very* good series. It doesn't turn into a milk fest ala Naruto/Inuyasha. Its solid all the way and I highly recommend it.

It actually has a cohesive, progressing plot over the course of the entire show. =p

Me too! It's the bishounen thing. I don't get it. What's the appeal of men that look like women? I'm sorry, as much love as I have for my fellow girl, I just can't help being attracted to men that look like men.

I like to dress up as Inu-Yasha, but it's because I like having the ears. And running around barefoot. And being anti-social. And carrying around a big sword. And throwing myself face-first into the floor whenever a girl in a schoolgirl outfit tells me to "sit."
