I'm not as familiar with CCH Pounder's work, so her name didn't spring to my mind. I do remember liking S. Epatha Merkerson in "Law and Order", and felt that she would have a good mix of seriousness and humour that the role would require (not as good as Whoopi, though... it's really difficult to picture anyone else in that role).

I'm sorry if I offended anyone by mentioning race. I was just trying to keep with who had been in the role before.

As weird as it may sound, I would pick Halle Berry for a new Guinan. She can play angry or soft-spoken with equal skill, plus she has a great voice for the role.

Sorry there's still only one Spock...Quinto is ok as an actor but he can't do Spock.

As for a whole new crew, a whole new Enterprise, I worry that it'll turn out like "Enterprise" and barely make it through 4 seasons.

As for Enterprise that was a shame because the show got REALLY good in the 4th season too. I was sorry to see it didn't get more of a chance.

But I think if they did a new crew on a new Enterprise they should go even farther into the future now. And if they are good with the casting like they were for all the other shows I think it would do ok.
