        Every year on the 4th, I think back to my namesake who was part of the 3% who took up arms against his nation, to create a new one. What were his thoughts on doing so, I have to wonder.

        He's been dead since 1822, so it's impossible to know.

          It was, but ol' Ben Franklin objected. Said something about the eagle having poor morals or whatnot. They HAVE been known to eat other birds' young ones, but dude, that's nature.

                The Smithsonian has an article about this which goes into some detail. It's not exactly as I remember learning it, but
