Default Murder mystery parties

We did our first murder mystery party last night and it was a blast. Granted we all started drinking around 1:30 in the afternoon, but hey.
My friend and I have been trying to do one for ages and we finally realized we had enough time to prep for one. And have an excuse to "theme" Christmas dinner. The guys have been very reluctant to participate even though they're long time role-players.
It really helped that we dressed up. I wore my only fancy dress (it still fit, yay) and BF wore slacks and a blazer.
Dinner was a fancy salad, ham, green beans, corn casserole, yummy mashed potatos, gravy, and some thing I don't quite remember. Dessert was Trifle, pudding cake, and Yule log (the first on I've ever made). I also brought some rum balls and spritz cookies.

I have always wanted to go to a murder mystery party. Is it weird that I just finished watching an episode of Leverage that involved an actual murder at a murder mystery gala?
