I was recently called out to a "job" where they had taken over a business and wanted to change the keys. Not a problem, normally.
Except they wanted a restricted key. Under the terms of my contract with the controlling guild, I have to keep the components and blanks for my restricted systems locked in a fixed safe at home. Can't actually carry them in my vehicle unless going to a job. Even then, I have to have the blanks already cut and marked before heading out. As you can imagine, this creates delays in installing such things.
Anyway, told them it would be 45 minutes to an hour for me to get home, cut the required keys, and come back with the required components. They OK'd this, so I bid them a pleasant goodbye, and said I would be back soon.
I get 5 minutes drive down the road, and receive a phone call.
"Yeah, hi, you were just out here organising to change the keys for us. I'm just calling to let you know that we can't wait that long, and have found someone else."
What. The. F***.
I responded nicely enough, saying fair enough, but I think they heard the seething anger under my "nice" voice as they hung up rather quickly. Needless to say, their phone number has gone on my blacklist.
