  • I want weird music videos

This is kind of a reverse Check it out.

So every Monday I watch Radio Dead Air, it's a live webcast that plays music videos, funny videos and random stuff. around 11:30 for half an hour they read funny news stories in a segment called what the fuck is wrong with you.

Now you can request videos, and the host nash tends to play almost anything. When someone requested the german yodeler linked in check it out the reaction in the live chat was hilarious further the hosts reaction was very funny as well, he actually appeared while the video was playing mouthing the words what the fuck.

This inspired me a little. So I requested bad lip reading's dirty spaceman to which the reactions again were hilarious and the host enjoyed it greatly.

Two weeks ago I requested open gangnam style (a kpop song) to which the host's girlfriend danced like crazy on the screen.

So I am putting out a request to have some fun, give me weird music videos and I will request them.
Interviewer: What is your greatest weakness?
Me: I expect competence from my coworkers.

The weirdest video I can think of off the top of my head is DyE's "Fantasy" - warning, rather NSFW. Don't know if that webcast is okay with that.

"Dog Police" by Dog Police, an 80s novelty band. I actually remember the song, but I never realized it had a video until recently.

Any of Andy Rehfeldt's videos. He takes familiar pop songs and rearranges them in completely different genres. Here's Metallica's Enter Sandman as if it were smooth jazz.

Hot Chip's official video for their song "I Feel Better", in which a boy band's concert is interrupted by a strange little man in a glowing hospital gown.

This is just from a quick scan of my YouTube favorites. You might also look up videos of Klaus Nomi, who was a performance artist in New York back in the late 70s.

My pick would be "Land of Confusion" by Genesis from 1986. The older set will probably remember that one.

Great Big Sea has a few trippy videos.

                  1) Consequence Free

                  2) Mari-Mac

                  3) When I'm Up

                  4) Run Runaway

Granted, each video does relate to the song somehow (possibly with the exception of Run Runaway), but to me they're just...weird. O.o

Can't have a thread about weird music videos without Fish Heads.

The actual song doesn't begin until 2:17, and the beginning segment IMHO will make even the most hardcore Dr. Demento fans go WTF.

For other weirdness, I suggest you check out early Merrie Melodies cartoons. No, seriously.

Gary Hoey did a version of that years later with less yodeling and it turned into a pretty great instramental. One of my faves

Here's my throw in: Crucified Notable for being such a bad video you just can't look away. It wraps back around to awesome in its terribleness

how about the partner song to "Gangnam Style" called "Oppah'n Dakk Ne Style" which, translated, is "You're Just/Exactly My Style".

                            http://youtu.be/wcLNteez3c4

btw, it's just "Gangnam Style" not "Open Gangnam Style" ... it's also "Oppah'n" not "Open". "Oppah" means "Older brother" or "older guy" (but it doesnt apply too well on married guys or guys over 40 ish).
So when he says "Oppah", he's referring to himself. He's going "I'm Gangnam Style".

                            yep. :T

                            Also... DJ Ozma "Spiderman"

                            and DJ Ozma "Drinking Boys"

                            ....yep.
