  • Little help with a book??

My mom's been trying to find this book series that my sister read when she was a kid twenty years ago. Nether of them remember much, but I managed to gather this much.

1: They are four boys as the main characters, brothers.
2: They live with their mom and two maiden aunts.
3: Its written in the perception of the second brother, (Possibly named Tom).
4: It set in late 1800 early 1900.
5: When the mom got mad at them, she'd give them a silent treatment.

It aint much I know, but all my searchs have come up fruitless. I'm hoping someone here could have a lead??

    Oh! Oh! Oh!

    Wait! I know that one!

But I can't remember the damn name!
Give me time. It will come to me.

It was the Great Brain series, by John D. Fitzgerald.

The oldest brother was Sweyn(sp), next Tom (The Great Brain), then John (The stories were written from his point of view), and their youngest brother, Frankie, who was adopted after his parents were killed in a landslide.

They lived with their father (who ran the local newspaper), their mother, and their "Aunt Bertha", who wasn't really their aunt but a family friend who moved in with them after her husband died. They lived in Adenville, Utah, in the late 1800's.
