Oh kind gods. It wasn't, perchance, called "bitter aperitif", was it? It's from Italy. I had it once, and I nearly died. Thankfully there was a lot of root beer near by to wash the taste away. When my sister took her trip to Italy we tried to convince her to buy some and give it to all her friends just to see the looks on their faces when they actually drank it.
I didn't keep the bottle, the label was in Italian anyway (the ingredients and nutritional information were printed in several languages, including English). It reminded me of how I used to order a Coke and a shot of espresso in a big glass and combine the two.
