  • "Good night Daddy..." RIP Ralph Waite

It was mentioned in this thread, but nobody had linked to the news story.
We lost another good one. He was 85.
He played the father on the Waltons, and lately had been playing Gibbs' father on NCIS and Booth's grandfather on Bones.

    He was a great actor.
I always wished he could be my father. LOL
Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.

Damn saw this on FB earlier..I had a feeling this was coming

    Vaya Con Dios Ralph Waite

Always liked him on NCIS, wonder how they'll handle this, hope they don't skip it entirely especially considering IMHO we got cheated with Director Shepherd (though the actress left in that situation I realize this is totally different)

      Saw that the other day.

I grew up watching The Waltons and I'm also wondering how this will be written into NCIS as well.

I'm not a fan of how they wrote out Shepard, and I literally cried when Mike Franks got killed off (damn good character BTW.) But Daddy Gibbs . . .
Human Resources - the adult version of "I'm telling Mom." - Agent Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo (NCIS)

I know right? The thing that pissed me off with Director Shepherd is we got cheated out of a funeral if you will (IMHO). At least Mike got the send-off he deserved, so why didn't Jenny??

TPTB better not pull a similar stunt with Jack or I'm gonna be pissed

and they better at least let Jethro grieve properly

He also played Father Matt on Days of Our Lives. He was on the show a couple of weeks ago.
