A new teaser for an upcoming Ashes leaked this weekend. It featured a brief clip of a bearded Mike Quackenbush asking someone (now known to be Icarus, from a Vine video released last week) "Don't you know how to knock?" and the other person answering, "Would you have opened the door if I had?"

But of more interest was a more extended series of clips showing 3.0 entering Archibald Peck's shack in Parts Unknown, where they find a wall full of crazy, with strings and theories and pictures all tacked upon it. At the end of the clip, Peck himself appears and says, "You shouldn't be here."

People are still working on getting a screenshot of the board, but the following have been spotted. (NOTE: Bold is what was spotted, italics are my thoughts/analysis)

A sketch of the flux capacitor.
No surprise something like this would turn up, given Peck's tendency to time travel.

    A 3.0 t-shirt.
Perhaps Peck has been monitoring 3.0's search for him?

That one Chikara t-shirt with the spiral of names.
Potentially nothing. The "spiral of names" shirt is a yearly release from Chikara.

Something cut off where the top line says "Future" and underneath ":16".
Can't really say much on this until we know more...

    "Summer of 69"
Uncertain what this is supposed to indicate...

    "Don't forget the Submission Squad"
The Submission Squad may allegedly have accidentally knocked out the power to the Tag World Grand Prix 2013 venue in Chicago, coincidentally at the same time that Peck ate a Backfist to the Future from Eddie Kingston, which supposedly sent Peck back to "Chikarasaurus Rex: How To Hatch A Dinosaur."

    "The Future
    2/1"

2/1 is the date of National Pro Wrestling Day this year.

    "Cool
    Heart
    Intense
    KAIJU
    Art
    Respect
    Awesome

    Fun!"

The Wrestling Is companies. This is the first time we've seen anything that officially links Kaiju Big Battel into the mix, as the "K" in "Chikara."

    "GEKIDO"
The wrathful invading group from 2012 have been more active lately, with the injured 17 and CombatANT returning from absence. They are also supposedly on the Titor Conglomerate's payroll.

    "1.21 Jigawatts"
Another "Back to the Future" reference. 1.21 jigawatts were necessary to power the flux capacitor.

"Who is the Titan of Titor?"
This is a new one. This is the first time a 'Titan of Titor' has been mentioned, and may be indicative of a new villain.

    "25 May 2014"
No apparent significance to this date yet, but some people are guessing that this might be a date when Chikara may return, in time for an Aniversario event...
UPDATE!! May 25, 2002 was the date of the first Chikara show. May 25, 2014 will be 12 years to the day.

That photo of the Titor folks doing the groundbreaking.
The photo that killed Chikara. This picture was passed from the "No Public Army" blog to Mike Quackenbush, and from Quack to Derek Sabato, who tweeted it out at "Aniversario: Never Compromise," and led to Wink Vavasseur (on orders from Titor) shutting down the show.

    "Conrad
    =
    Prometheus"

It's unclear what this means yet, but it definitely points to Conrad Vavasseur, Wink's father, being a part of something.

    The Titor logo.
The Titor Conglomerate, of course, is the shady corporation that bought Chikara in 2011, and has been accused as being involved in hate groups/white supremacy groups and a PMC organization (Condor Security) that has allegedly been involved in crimes against humanity.

    A picture of Icarus' back.
Icarus' infamous back tattoo was a large part of Icarus' rudo (heel) character, and he's notably kept it covered up since his face turn.

"Scapegoats". There's a photo underneath, but I can't make it out.
Not sure what this means yet. If we get a better look at the picture, we may know more. Perhaps the 'scapegoats' are who Titor is going to shift the blame to?

    "Where is Soldier Ant?"
This has been one of the central mysteries of the "Ashes" series, with The Colony trying to track him down.

    "Beware the Flood"
The "Flood" was referred to by DeviANT in the "Ashes" video of the same name, warning AssailANT that it was coming.

"The truth behind" (rest cut off/illegible)
Not much else can be gleaned about this until and unless we get a better look at the board.

A picture of Dr. Cube's head.
Kaiju Big Battel's central villainous figure was shot in the head last year, although he later returned from the dead-- although in Kaiju it's been implied that the 'new' Cube is an impostor. Dr. Cube has also been instrumental in two of the Wrestling Is companies shutting down.

This teaser clip has gotten a lot of people talking, and some are comparing it to Rip Hunter's blackboard/theory wall from DC Comic's "52" series. If this is meant to be an analogy to that, it may mean that one of 3.0 is secretly a villain...

      Another "Ashes" Update

"Ideas" - Set at some point after "Sweat Shop," Icarus tracks down Mike Quackenbush at his home. He asks for Quack's help, noting "They won't listen to me, they'll listen to you... there's a war coming." Quack seemed haunted by the lengths to which he'd gone to fight GEKIDO and was reluctant, though Icarus gave him the wrestling gear he'd swiped at the Wrestle Factory before leaving.

        Yet Another "Ashes" Update!

"When?" shows 3.0 discovering Archibald Peck's shack in Parts Unknown, with his wall of strings and pictures and diagrams and other assorted conspiracy stuff. Archie storms in, and 3.0 want answers from him, since he was at the Trocadero when Condor Security tore down Chikara. Archie tells them he doesn't have any answers for them, "only theories." 3.0 told him there's an army forming that's trying to wipe what's left of Chikara off the map and ask for his help. Archie tells them it's too late, as time moves differently in Parts Unknown, and that all the traces of Chikara "have been washed away." 3.0 are despairing that nothing can be done, but Archie suggests there may be something...

...and their eyes turn toward a diagram of a Flux Capacitor and the date "25 May 2014."

          Wrestling Is... Ragnarok update

Many Chikara fans have been wondering if the 'Ghosts of Rudos Past' are intending to interfere at National Pro Wrestling Day, to continue the storyline that there's an "army" out to wipe out what remains of Chikara, as the "Ashes" videos have implied.

Well, Sidney Bakabella, whose Wrecking Crew destroyed Wrestling Is Respect, tweeted out "Got the payment. Got the marching orders. My Wrecking Crew will be most appropriate this Saturday in Easton."

And GEKIDO, who destroyed Wrestling Is Intense, attempted to do the same to Fun, and were present for the destruction of Respect, tweeted out also: "The final flickers of a dying ember? Savor them. Enjoy your final days. The final pillars are about to fall. #NPWD"

They weren't the only ones to speak out, as Oliver Grimsly, member of Sinn Bodhi's Odditorium that destroyed Wrestling is Art, also made a threatening tweet, as did Ares of the BDK, tweeting out German that translated to "The End is Now!"

Kaiju's Dr. Cube also put out a video showing an EKG heartbeat that slowed and flatlined, followed by a graphic depicting the date 2.1.14.

And then this video surfaced, displaying an ominous warning of "The End Is Now," showing the various Ghosts of Rudos past together (visible are Dr. Cube, Qefka the Quiet, 17, CombatANT, and at least one other), while a voice says the date "February 1st, 2014." EDIT: This is a reversed version of an "Ashes" preview video.

All this points to something sinister happening at NPWD on February 1st.

I've updated the OP to put a summary of all the events since June 2 last year-- including the "Ashes" videos and the Wrestling Is events-- in it.

The "Ashes" updates are coming every day now as we speed toward NPWD.

"Believe" - Set at some point after "History," and presumably before or perhaps after the Wrestling Is Fun show in January 2014, Icarus goes to the Palmer Center in Easton, PA, where he confronts the Colony. They agree to help him defend Chikara's ideals.

Someone on the 101 Forums bought the Intense, Awesome, Art, and Cool shows where the companies were shut down by the Ghosts of Rudos Past and put them up on YouTube.

EDIT: Welp, those videos posted by that fan have already been taken down.

                Last "Ashes" update before NPWD

"Rise" features several Chikara notables training. Icarus does a "Rocky" run through Philadelphia. The Throwbacks do calisthenics. Ophidian practices his kung fu.

Sure enough, it all went down at National Pro Wrestling Day.

The Ghosts of Rudos Past invaded the Palmer Center in the main event of the show, as Heidi Lovelace was on the verge of winning Wrestling Is Heart's La Copa Idola trophy, having champion Joe Pittman on the verge of tapping out to the Chikara Special submission. It was a veritable army-- GEKIDO (17, The Shard, DeviANT, CombatANT), the Odditorium (Kizarny Sinn Bodhi, Oliver Grimsly, Qefka the Quiet), the BDK (Ares, Milo Schniztler, Nokken), Sidney Bakabella's Wrecking Crew (Bakabella, Max Smashmaster, Blaster McMassive, Flex Rumblecrunch), three men wearing bird-mask/gas-masks (one of whom unmasked to reveal Jimmy Jacobs), and Dr. Cube's Posse (Cube, Haack, Slaash, and an ARMY of minions). They stormed the ring, where Jacobs smashed the Copa Idola trophy.

The Submission Squad (Pierre Abernathy, Evan Gelistico, Davey Vega, Gary the Barn Owl)-- who had been trying to invade Chikara for months-- showed up and said the bad guys would have to go through them if they wanted to wipe out what was left of Chikara. So the bad guys did. But then Icarus and several of his supporters showed up beside him-- the Colony, Hallowicked, AssailANT, Kid Cyclone, another trainee, and some others. Jacobs told AssailANT it was time to take his place with them, but AssailANT drew a line on the ground and refused to step over it, stepping back to join Icarus' crew. Jacobs laughed at them, saying that the eight of them didn't stand a chance against their army.

Which is when Icarus gave the signal-- and Dr. Cube's minions removed their masks to reveal THE CHIKARA ROSTER! The Batiri, UltraMantis Black, Mr. Touchdown, Dasher Hatfield, the Baltic Siege, and many others. They started brawling with the bad guys, and then a DeLorean pulled up outside the venue, and 3.0 and Archibald Peck ran in to help run off the bad guys. The fans were cheering and chanting "CHIKARA!" as Icarus stood in the ring and held up a sign reading "5.25.14" and said "We're coming back! Tell the world!"

                    Final "Ashes" Update

"Workin'" - In the aftermath of NPWD, the Colony finds AssailANT at the Fujiwara Arm Bar. Green Ant questions him about the change of heart, and AssailANT comes clean...

...the reason for Big Blue's change of heart is because he's a father now, and he wanted to become a better person, someone his son can look up to. Green Ant accepted this, and left him with the box containing the gear of Worker Ant, telling him, "You're the worker now."

                    Chikara's Return

As noted, Chikara's return date has been set for May 25th, 2014 at the Palmer Center in Easton, PA. Fans who signed Icarus' petition and received the "I Am Chikara" t-shirt and wear it to the show will get free admission. (That's me out. I couldn't make it to any of his rallies.)

The show is being called "You Only Live Twice." Some savvy fans have noted that it was in that Bond film that Blofeld was finally seen for the first time, and speculate we might find out who the impostor Dr. Cube is.

                      A Glimpse Behind the Curtain

Art of Wrestling interview with Mike Quackenbush

Colt Cabana has Quack on his podcast and they discuss Chikara and the reasons behind the hiatus. This is a rare case where Quack steps outside of the narrative and explains his beliefs as a wrestler and promoter.

In short, he makes a product that isn't going to be for everybody, and he's never going to try to make something that everybody enjoys, but he does try to connect to those who believe what he believes, and that's about storytelling.

                        Story Recap

Chikara's website (ChikaraPro.com) has a "Story Recap" link on their front page-- above the 'Subscribe' link. It gives a brief synopsis of how Chikara "died" and what happened afterward with the Wrestling Is network, and that it is returning.

                        Close to Selling Out

Chikara's return show, "You Only Live Twice," is in Easton, PA, at the Palmer Center, and the tickets were in such high demand that Chikara has now negotiated to be able to make use of the entire Palmer Center gymnasium. The last time they did this was for 2012's King of Trios tournament.

This is a great sign that the show will be huge.

The Official Trailer has been released.

This could just be hype for the show, or it could be an indication that more Ashes videos will turn up again as we get nearer to May 25.

                            CHIKARA WEEKLY UPDATE - FEB. 17, 2014

It was revealed this past week that The Ashes of Chikara is getting a theatrical debut. The "Ashes" videos that were released over the last several months were only part of a larger whole, which is being shown in Collegeville, PA on May 5th with a red carpet premiere. The film will start at 8pm, with limited seating available. After the film, there will be a Q&A session with the creators. Tickets go on sale on March 7.

"You Only Live Twice", the return show, has been opened up to include all available space in the Palmer Center in Easton, PA, and tickets are still being sold, but it appears that it could be a sell-out show. Rows 1, 2, & 3 are sold out, but general admission seating is still available. Chikara fans that attended any of the rallies held by Icarus where they signed his petition and received an "I Am Chikara" shirt will be admitted free.

As if fans aren't already hyped for the return show, Chikara announced on Twitter (and later confirmed on the 101 Forums) a pre-show event, "Chikara: The Expansion Pack", with separate tickets (of limited quantity), which go on sale tomorrow, February 18 at noon. The event starts at 1pm on May 25th, with several activities in which to take part, listed below.

Two more events have been announced for June 21-22, "Diamonds Are Forever" and "Goldfinger", but no further information is available and tickets are not yet on sale. It's clear that the show name theme for Chikara's "Season 14" will be taken from the names of James Bond films.

Does this mean they're gonna start wrestling again?

By the way...I haven't checked their website, do they have full seasons on DVD available for purchase/download?

Seems like some of the matches are exciting, and some are very amusing. Like this one involving Player Uno and Delirious:

                              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otiizmbUY20

The Stamford, CT promotion could really learn some stuff from the Chikara guys...I saw a GREAT tag team once that was Jigsaw & Mike Quackenbush versus the Young Bucks.

                              this one, in fact:

Yes, the return show on May 25th marks the return of their running actual wrestling events again.

Chikara events aren't available on their website, but through Smart Mark Video. Many shows are available via DVD, download in MP4 format, or streaming on-demand on SMVOD.

They don't do full "season" purchases, since "season" is just a term Chikara uses to describe a year in their company. (Season 11 ran throughout 2012, Season 12 ran through 2013 until "Aniversario: Never Compromise," and Mike Quackenbush has stated in recent interviews that the hiatus, including the "Ashes" videos and the rallies and so on is considered to be "Season 13."

Re: those clips. The Player Uno/Delirious interaction took place at "Young Lions Cup 2008 Night 3." The whole three-night event was very good, but Night 3 also features a number of great matches, including an absolutely EPIC Match of the Year candidate as Vin Gerard and Fire Ant fought to be crowned that year's Young Lions Cup champion.

The Young Bucks/QuackSaw match comes from "King of Trios 2010 Night 3." The King of Trios shows are always a great buy, and I recommend always getting the full set for any given year. KOT tournaments bring in international talent. 2010 featured teams from Big Japan Wrestling, Osaka Pro, and from Mexico in the form of a team representing the group Perros del Mal. (It would have also featured a team consisting of Jorge 'Skayde' Rivera, Turbo, and El Valiente, but Rivera infamously had his teammates seek bookings elsewhere the weekend of the show, tried to stop El Oriental (from Perros del Mal) from getting on his flight, and held up Chikara for more money. This understandably led to the end of Chikara's association with him. Rivera had been one of the men who helped train Quack, and several other people on the roster.)
