just as a headsup anyone with family in the OKC metro area AT&T is asking for people to text rather than call their families, there may be voice network damage but the data network seems to be fineThis is a drama-free zone; violators will be slapped. -Irving Patrick Freleigh

Yeah we had a near miss last night. This afternoon when the sirens went off, I was going to pick up my daughter early from school. They had evacuated to the hospital next door, so we headed over. My son was just hanging out in the basement. Daughter was flipping her shit that I refused to take her home right then. We had to wait for the all-clear before the hospital would let us leave.
As far as I know all of my family and friends are safe. A couple of the teachers at my daughter's school lost their houses though
I'm trying to get some things together to donate tomorrow to help out.

Sister is in the shelter right now. She's near Fort Smith waiting for the tornado warning to expire. Several co-workers spent the last couple of hours watching the storm coverage in OKC this afternoon.
Waiting out some thunderstorms here in St. Louis.Random conversation:
Me: Okay..so I think I get why Zoro wears a bandana
DDD: Cuz it's cool
So, by using the Doctor's reasoning, bow ties, fezzes and bandanas are cool.

This one was bad, very bad. The death toll is over 50 and 20 are children from an elementary school.

woke up this morning and turned on the news to find that we have moved from tornadoes to flash flood warnings for most of southern OK and a good bit of AR.
We haven't heard much from our members in MO and AR, is everyone alright over there? This is a drama-free zone; violators will be slapped. -Irving Patrick Freleigh

I don't know if it's all part of the same monster storm system or not, but something big is forecast for tonight. And I'm working, which means I'll be driving all night in it. I half expect to be parked for the worst of it though, depending on the timing.

Well word was the death toll was going to be as many as 90, but the official death toll was revised to 24, less than people thought.
