Think Geek has a good freebie points program.
I love ThinkGeek but I HATE their points program because they don't offer it outside the US, and yet every time I look at something, it tells me "you could have earned x points on this!". NO I COULDN'T YOU DAMN WEBSITE, YOU WON'T LET ME HAVE YOUR ****ING POINTS SCHEME! Stop telling me what I could have saved and earned and won if you won't let me have it!!

End result of the rant: if you're going to have some sort of reward scheme, offer it to everyone, otherwise you get pissed off customers.

*grumblegrumblegrumble* Where's my glass of rum gotten to...

      you make a valid point...

I think I could offer the point system to anyone in the world....but not free shipping as a reward?

Free shipping in the continental US, discounted shipping outside of that.

I strongly suspect that they're lack of offering it to international customers isn't a choice they made, but rather a result of international law.

You could always ask them about it and/or suggest that they remove that from their site when a non-US customer is logged in.

Or "up to $X amount of shipping."

Ok..I thought about what promotions and such might be a good idea, and came up pretty much blank..except for one idea that I do not know if it is possible. You offer some nice items, and that is where this idea came from. Personalized items. Basically if they order enough items, they can save up the points to get something like their or their loved ones initials ingraved on the item, or the like. Like I said, not sure if that is possible or not, but if so..there ya go.

sadly since most of my orders are shipped from my vendor directly to my customers theres the added time and expense of shipping it to me, getting the item personalized, then mailing it back out. not sure if its feasible at this time.
