I pumped gas today and noticed a warning sign which, among other disclaimers and warnings, said, "Children and unlicensed drivers may not operate or be near the nozzle or pump at time of fueling."

So such signs do exist in some gas stations, anyway.

"Children and unlicensed drivers may not operate or be near the nozzle or pump at time of fueling."

So how do they know if the driver is licensed or not? What if the driver is not licensed, but nobody else is available?

He spent the whole transaction complaining that there wasn't any signs, fuel pumps never splashback and that he wasn't coming back again.

So what if there wasn't a sign?

An an actual human employee telling you something gives you the exact same information as a sign would.

I never got that mentality that if there's no sign any verbal information given to you is meaningless.
