I must have taken 30 calls yesterday from people asking to be taken off of our mailing list. No problem. We expect that. But why do some people think this is the worst thing that ever happened to them?

Unsolicited mailers, unsolicited emails, and unsolicited phone calls are all the big signs of sucky retailers. If you work for one of them, you can expect people to call and be upset.
I visited your store or website. I found you, I can find you again.

If I actively signed a form requesting further promotional materials, then send them. If I did not, what sort of moral midget would think that I want my mailbox, inbox, or telephone misused with some store's unwanted advertising?
It's free for the store. I have to take my time to deal with it. Want to create some sucky customers? This is one way to do it.
