  • Windows Media Player duplicate entries

So I just added a whack of music to my library. Unfortunately, every entry of what I just added was somehow added twice. Anyone know a quick and easy way of fixing that without needing to delete the listing and have it re-search my media files for everything?

Yep that is how I always did it.

Or do you have duplicate copies of those songs? I know that when you add folders to your library if you have dupes they will show up then forcing you to clean up your files..

I get duplicates since I have keep music media in two different bit rates for different applications, sucks when I forget and add the wrong folder..

Nope. I didn't have any of the CDs before, and now they're all showing two of each track under the CD listing.

I guess I'll have to do the rebuild. Thanks you two.

Does that to me too, it drives me nuts. I automatically just delete one copy of every song. It's a pain in the ass, but then again, so is Microsoft.
