    The Hubs and i went out to breakfast this morning. held the door for an elderly couple, no big deal. went about out business.
    when we went to pay, the cashier lady said "don't worry about it, they paid for you" ("they" being the elderly couple)
    we were in shock! no idea why. they were quick moving, otherwise we would've thanked them personally.
    some days, i have hope for humanity ^_^

    Probably because they were so stunned that you were polite enough to hold the door for them. Sadly, that kind of common courtesy is becoming rarer all the time.

        Aw, that's sweet. There was a letter in Dear Abby(?) yesterday (I think, I just read it tonight) about a family that went out for their kids' birthday and discovered at the end of the meal that another table had paid their tab. I like those stories.
