I have dark coarse hair and pale skin too, and I get a 5 o'clock shadow on my legs when I shave. I actually sugar my lower legs myself and the shave in the bikini area. It's just easier on all counts that way and cheaper. I never quite get every single hair when I sugar, but now they're all soft and stuff.

Nair is evil. I have left it on for twice the recommended time to see if it will take off my hair, but it just stings.
