*laughs* My Drill Sergent used to love being called sir. Because that meant he got to get right in somebodys face and yell "DOES IT LOOK LIKE I DON'T WORK FOR A LIVING?!!"

Ah, yes, drill sergeant wisdom. I remember it well. And the pushups that went with it.

A related funny-when I was in basic training, I'd gone to Confession, like the good Catholic boy I was. (While I'm still Catholic, the good part is debatable...and the boy part...well, deep down, under the man, perhaps)

Anyhoo, I say, "Bless me, Sergeant, for I have sinned..."

The chaplain got a chuckle. Apparently I wasn't the first recruit to make that mistake.
