Alaska's not the only state people have a hard time figuring out it's a state. *Points to my location.*

Since 1912, and before that, it was a territory. Hasn't belonged to Mexico for a very long time.
Know that's right. I grew up in Albuquerque. One time, someone said I spoke English very well. Gee, maybe because I was raised speaking it? Another time, someone asked if I had a green card? In that case, I did, and showed them...my Army ID card.
I've heard people have inquired about visa information to visit New Mexico. And of people expecting to see gunfights and stagecoaches. Gunfights, well, they're done by gangbangers, especially in that part of town called the War Zone. Stagecoaches, maybe at the State Fair.
I have to get back there sometime...if nothing else, I've heard about a Frankensteinian food creation called the Disaster burrito...
But seriously, I wonder about the public educational system at times. I'm very glad that my "kid", well, to paraphrase the song, she don't need no education. She's a very smart kitty.
