While it is not what I'd call a service industry, I cater to folks who desire to make science happen.
I am a particle accelerator operator at the National Accelerator Lab in Batavia Il.
In my line of work I have to provide protons and anti protons to a myriad of users, some cool and most blockheads. ("what part of you must have two people to do X do you not understand?")
Before this I drove a truck, schoolbus, worked retail at a hardware store, and even was curator of a history museum.
So, I hope I can share my exploits and shining moments dealing with PHDs, and the occasional mistakes that cost us a couple million bucks...
