  • Customer Angry About Grocery Manager Not Being on Duty

Today, a customer called wanting the grocery manager and I paged him. I found out from a coworker that the grocery manager wasn't there. I let the customer know and she got angry. She even said that she was told he would be there that day. I guess whoever told her that didn't check the schedule to make sure he was working today. I even offered to transfer her to a manager which I ended up doing.

So managers should be there 24/7?

Silly me. Of course they should. That's why people call me at 8:55 in the evening when I leave at 9 with questions that only my manager could answer...and then they wonder why she's not there. Um, because she works during the day? Because she's got seniority? Duh.
