Just a Pipe Dream....

now THIS is awesome.

One of my Performing Arts tutors at uni showed me this tonight as we were walking into our tutorial.

Hmmm.....that's pretty cool. But it would be way cooler if it was real.

The 'real' machine looks a little too sterile for my liking.

But it's still cool.

I wound up sending a clip back to my music teacher, which is WAY too inappropriate for primary school kids, but is appropriate for high school kids. Not so much the music itself that's inappropriate, rather the song.

It's called Symphony No. 1 (In Memoriam Dresden) and is a piece of program music. The

The interesting thing about is not that it was originally done for the music, but for the animation.

The animusic videos are actually fairly old (at least 10 years old) and were made as part of a tech demonstration as to how one medium can be turned into another. In this case, music into animation.

So the next time you see an advanced visualizer in a music player, consider the source.
