There is a "low-end" version of the 3DS that's coming out/come out called the 2DS, which basically lacks some of the functions of the 3DS and resembles one giant tablet.

Personally I plan on getting my 3DS secondhand at some point.

No thanks, some 3DS games have gimmicks that pretty much REQUIRE the 3D functionality. Not interested in shooting myself in the foot like that. I heard that in early stages of planning, they forgot that one of the zelda games requires you to close the 3DS (put the game into sleep mode) to be able to alter/copy the map, so they had to put a sleep switch on the device.

I finally got a female Chespin, but now 99% of the wild pokemon I'm running into are female (except for Combee, go figure).

The name filter is multilingual now it seems...so will I have to check each nickname against the entire banned-word database to see if I can transfer it? That sucks.

....If anyone gets a Scyther/Axew as well, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I want my Scizor and Haxxie babies back for this game, and they're trapped in BW until December. ;_;

I got my 3rd gym badge yesterday. I was at the midnight release of the game, and the crowd was bigger than the crowd for the most recent Halo game.

Picked it up and been playing a bit so far. I'm amazed at the number of Pokemon you can get before the first and second badge. I've captured about 60 so far and I'm only almost at the second badge (I think).

I swear that most of the pokemon you get will be the sex of your starter and/or character. I'm a firetype, so I've got my Torchic, Charmander and Fenneken (a very effeminate fenneken it seems) and they're all Male.

This time around, I'm not looking at any guides or anything, just picking up what I can in each route and area. I did briefly toss my Charmeleon and Fletchling into the day care centre, but they had no interest in eachother.

The first city annoyed the ever loving hell out of me because I got lost and I NEVER GOT LOST IN A CITY IN POKEMON BEFORE. EVER.

The camera angles didn't help...I'm not sure I want to be able to control the camera in one of these games.

Wonder Trade is the best thing ever. I will never pay for a revive or a moomoo milk or a full heal ever again!

I don't have the game OR a 3ds (How I would love to have both ). I've watched some Youtube videos about the game though and I have to say that Lumiose city looks like a pain. The good thing is (Spoiler look away NOW)

Yes I've noticed that. I want more clothes! Hoity-toity gits... the way to get in is to do lots of stuff in Lumiose, like trimming your poodle, getting a hairstyle, battling in the cafés, making PR videos... O.o

However an important thing to note in Lumiose that Nintendo released a statement about is that you can bork your save file if you save in the North and South boulevards! Save in a building if you have to save in that city.
