  • You left your kid where!?

This lady made me so angry!

Technically she was my co worker's SC but she pulled in a bunch of us with her extreme behavior.

This woman came up to my co worker wanting to cash a bunch of strange checks. CW was already in the I've-had-it-with-people mood and wasn't looking for a best friend to chat with. The woman kept pushing her to talk about her own profession and not letting CW try and do her job as efficently as needed. So, CW was nice but told her she can't chit chat right now--she said it way more professionally and nicer and had to talk to a supervisor about the checks.

One of the checks had a blank pay to the order of and the other was some kind of tow refund.

SC: Why is she so mean? (to me about CW)

    Me:

I didn't know what to say to her so I told her some bs line about CW just being focused or something. CW can be a lot meaner and was not here.

While CW was away this old man ran up screaming bloody murder at SC in the window.

Old man: I can't believe you did that!! I should call the cops! You crazy bitch!

    ME:

Til I realized what was going on.

SC: She can't be up here!

Suddenly I realize there is a three year old girl with the old man who I thought was the father of the SC.

OLD man: You cannot just leave her there! Lady, you're lucky I didn't march her over to security, you irresponsible poor excuse for a parent!

So, I finally realized what happened. SC left her THREE year old daughter ALONE in our across the casino cafe and this complete STRANGER brought her back. Seriously!! That old man was awesome. The SC was unaffected and still didn't realize what she did wrong.

CW comes back and see's the child.

CW: We can't do anything with the child present.

Old man walked away in a huff as the little girl ran to her mom.

SC sent her child over by a wall.

CW: no, ma'am you cannot leave her unattended and she can't be up here at all.

SC finally left and tugged her kid like a dog. I had the phone and had dialed security but it was too late since she was already with her mom.

I seriously wanted to scream at how she just left her baby alone!!! At it was almost midnight to top it off! She's lucky he didn't take her baby!

Omg, I fear for that child. What nonsense. Poor kid!

I'm glad at least someone was watching after her. I bet she'll be back to try it again.

Since the mother didn't understand what the problem was, I think a call to Social Services would be in order. You have her information based on the checks, right?

        Holy frijoles!!!

I applaud the man, but seriously, he SHOULD have just taken her to security, and THEN gone and ripped the mom a new one!

I didn't think anyone under the age of 18 (years and months, heh) was allowed in a casino.

It's sad that she still didn't understand what she did wrong. The kid's only 3. She's got the rest of her childhood with this parent. Then, when she grows up, she will have had no boundaries, really, and might end up like blas' coworkers. So, not having the little girl present for the transactions--is that due to some special circumstance w/ the transactions? Or she just can't be in the casino in general? Sorry--I've never been to one. But when I picture one, I never think of kids being there. Seems weird.

Ditto. If I said what I thought, mods would rightfully ban me.

Ok, I'm far from an expert, but I think a lot of bigger casinos are segmented into areas. Kids aren't allowed in the gaming area for sure, and evidently not in some other areas. But some areas, like restaurants & so forth, are ok. Years ago, my ex and I used to drive from California to Idaho at least a couple of times a year. We'd always stop in Reno for lunch, at Circus, Circus. Not for gambling, just for a good cheap meal, and so our daughter could watch the entertainment, she loved the circus acts, and much of that area was totally geared to kids. I don't think I ever even saw the gambling area of that casino

                Madness takes it's toll....

Kudos to the man who helped the little kid out!
Is it too late to suggest passing the tapes etc. to Social Services?

Wow. That needs to be on record. You couldn't report it to Children and Families? Poor girl. Wish the old man had gone to security. People like that shouldn't be reproducing.

They can be in there just not standing still on the casino floor. They can be in the restrooms, the arcade, and restaurants. But with an adult of course. To be able to be anywhere else you have to be 21.

I think it has different rules in different states but to me, I'd rather not have children inhale the nasty smoke and be around drunk people in an adult Disneyland.

She probably assumed, like so many SC's do, that the restaurant employees would keep an eye on her daughter. 'Cause, y'know, they have nothing else to do but babysit...

As for the checks...maybe she was so chitty-chatty because she was trying to distract your CW from the fact that something was "off" with those checks...

                          I don't even know where to begin with this trollop. A child...at a casino...that late at night...alone.

I took Khan to a casino once but just to a restaurant in there because my dad was jonesing for one of their hot browns. We never even got near the entrance to the gaming floor.

                            Mmm. Hot brown.

I can't imagine bringing any of my sister's kids to a casino for any reason... well, the oldest is old enough to gamble, but the little ones... yeah, not happening.
